2012 Auto Expo – Polaris launches its off-road vehicles in India

Polaris India Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of Polaris Industries today launched its powersport range of products like the Ranger RZR 170 and the Sportsman 90 at the Auto Expo 2012. The Polaris stall had on display rangers, snowmobiles, ATVs, off-road ambulance, motorcycles, youth powersport vehicles, off-road defense and also off-road fire tender vehicles. Polaris is also offering visitors a chance to experience their products with professional riders. Polaris currently has seven dealerships across India. They also own Victory and Indian motorcycle brands. The Polaris range of off-road vehicles starts from Rs 2.5 to 22 lakh.

The Sportsman 90, an under-18 range of ATV has got a 4-stroke 89cc engine, 2WD and automatic transmission with reverse. As part of its safety features, it gets a helmet, safety flag and adjustable speed limiter. The Ranger RZR 170 meanwhile is the world's only 'side by side'. This 169cc 4-stroke machine gets 2WD, automatic PVT and electric start as standard. Safety features include two helmets, 3-point seatbelts and safety flag.

Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj Dubey, managing director, Polaris India said, "We have seen a huge potential for youth powersports in the Indian market. Polaris youth powersports products will address the need for quality youth product and will take adventure riding to an all new level for young auto enthusiasts. The youth segment will provide a golden opportunity to extreme sports lovers to experience a new route of excitement and fun."
