Tata Motors has launched the long-range version of the Tata Nexon EV with the Tata Nexon EV Max. We put it through a real-world range test in our Tata Nexon EV Max review to see how far it really goes on a full charge, both in city and highway driving conditions. The Nexon EV Max has a 40.5 kWh lithium-ion phosphate battery that can do 437 km on a full charge as per the ARAI. The electric SUV can now DC fast-charge at 50 kW in 56 minutes to 80 per cent while a 7.2 kW AC charger is available as an optional extra which can charge the SUV in 6.5 hours, standard being a 3.3 kW wall box charger. The motor is now more powerful too, making 143PS and 250 Nm, good for a 0 to 100 kmph time of 9s and a 140 kmph top-speed. The Tata Nexon EV Max also gets more creature comforts and safety features than the standard Nexon EV. These include wider range of connected car functions as well as ventilated seats, wireless charging, an auto inner mirror, cruise control and an air purifier. Further, a new intense teal dual-tone paint option has been added. The safety equipment has remained unchanged save for the addition of ESC, hill-hold and hill-descent control and well as all-around disc-brakes.
