Volvo C40 Recharge deliveries commenced in India

Volvo Car India has commenced deliveries of its second electric vehicle (EV) in India, the C40 Recharge. R. Krishna Kumar, CEO, Kerala Volvo and Arun Kumar, CEO, Volvo Tamil Nadu, have handed over the first two cars to their owner in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The Swedish automaker assembles the electric coupe SUV at its Hosakote facility in Bangalore, Karnataka. Priced at Rs 61.25 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom), Volvo sells the C40 Recharge exclusively via its official website. Customers can reserve their electric coupe SUV directly at Volvo Car India website for a refundable token amount of Rs 1 lakh.

The C40 Recharge customers benefit from a range packages upon purchase, such as an 11kW Type-2 wall box charger, three years comprehensive warranty, three years Volvo Service Package, three years roadside assistance (RSA), battery pack warranty of eight years, and five years of complementary subscription to digital services.

Volvo Car India has also announced that it will offer the "Tre Kronor Experience" programme, which debuted with the all-electric XC40 Recharge for its customers, to the owners of the newly launched C40 Recharge.

Powering the C40 Recharge is a 78kWh battery pack paired with a dual-motor setup that delivers 408PS and 660Nm of torque. It can go from zero to 100kmph in just 4.7 seconds and provides a top speed of 180kmph. Above all, the WLTP range is rated at 530km, while the EV is claimed to have a range of 683km, as per ICAT.

The key highlights of the C40 Recharge include ADAS, LED headlamps, a panoramic sunroof, Android-based infotainment system, a 13-speaker, 600-watt, Harman Kardon sound system, air purifier, 360deg camera, wireless phone charging, and seven airbags, among others. Further, the C40 Recharge uses a floor carpet made from 71 recycled plastic bottles, while its interior elements are made from forest waste, wine corks, and plastic bottles.

The attractive introductory price of Rs. 61,25,000 and a range of 530 kms as per WLTP & 683 kms as per ICAT testing conditions on single charge have found favour with our customers."
