Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun Sound Editions launched; prices start at Rs 15.52 lakh
Volkswagen India has launched the new Sound Edition models of its Virtus saloon and Taigun SUV in India with prices starting at Rs 15.52 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 16.33 lakh (ex-showroom). Both special edition models are based on their corresponding range-topping variants.
Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun Sound Edition: Highlights
The Virtus Sound Edition, as the name suggests, features distinctive graphics on the C-pillars and 'Sound Edition' lettering. Above all, it also gets a hi-fi sound system comprising seven speakers, a subwoofer, and an amplifier. On the inside, the powered front seats come with embroidered 'Sound Edition' lettering. Customers can opt from Wild Cherry Red, Rising Blue, Lava Red, and Carbon Steel Grey colours.
Similarly, the Taigun Sound Edition boasts seven speakers, a subwoofer, and an amplifier. It also gets unique graphics on the C-pillars with 'Sound Edition' lettering. The Taigun Sound Edition is offered various paint options, such as with Volkswagen recently updated the SUV with powered front-row seats, which are also available with the special edition versions.
Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun Sound Edition: Powertrain
Unlike the standard models, the Sound Edition of the Virtus and Taigun are available only with the 1.0-litre, inline three-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit that makes 115PS and 148Nm of torque. Coupled to this engine is a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmissions. The regular Taigun and Virtus can also be had with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged TSI Evo petrol engine producing 150PS and 250Nm. This motor comes with cylinder deactivation technology. It is mated to a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.
