Upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO: All you need to know

The Mahindra XUV300 has needed a facelift for some time, and the local brand appears ready to deliver. The redesign is pretty comprehensive, and the main talking point today is that the car will be dubbed the Mahindra XUV 3XO. The car will debut on April 29, 2024, and with this Mahindra has confirmed several new features that will come with the new compact SUV. Here is all you need to know about the upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Interior and Features

Unlike its predecessor, the new Mahindra XUV 3XO will not skimp on technology. The new XUV 3XO's inside will be shared with the XUV400, with a new 10.25-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system and more modern-looking HVAC controls. It will also come with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, and rear air vents. The new car will also be the first in its segment to offer a panoramic sunroof, but we're pretty sure that will only be restricted to the top-end models.

The XUV 3XO is expected to receive quite a bit of ADAS tech as well, something that was not at all offered on the current XUV300. The likes of the Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet, have ADAS capabilities in higher-end models, so we're almost sure that the 3XO will borrow a couple of autonomous driving features from its older sibling, the Mahindra XUV700.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Design

The XUV 3XO receives a considerable design overhaul to call it just a facelift. The styling characteristics are strongly inspired by Mahindra's BE SUV line-up, which is set to hit production in 2025.

The teaser photographs of the new Mahindra XUV 3X0 reveal a few crucial characteristics, including a new fascia with a split headlamp layout, LED projector headlights, circular fog lights, L-shaped LED DRLs, new dual-tone alloy wheels, and a yellow paint scheme. It also has a redesigned two-part grille with a diamond pattern and a bigger central air inlet on the bumper. The rear end will also be redesigned, with new full-width LED taillights, a restyled tailgate with the new XUV 3XO badging in the centre, and the registration plate relocated to the back bumper.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Powertrain

The engine options will remain the same and comprise a 110PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, a 130PS 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol, and a 117PS 1.5-litre diesel. All engines come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, with an optional 6-speed AMT available for turbo-petrol and diesel engines. Rumours also suggest that there's an electric powertrain in the works but is expected to debut only later this year.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Pricing

Currently, the prices of the Mahindra XUV300 start from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 14.75 lakh. We expect the prices of the top-end variants to rise quite a bit with the slew of upgrades it seems to be getting. Upon launch, the XUV300 will renew its rivalry with the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue.
