Toyota officially declines news of massive discounts on Hilux

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has officially refuted the media reports claiming the Hilux is available with huge discounts. In a statement released by the brand stated it continues to follow the price list officially announced by the company for the Hilux with prices starting from Rs 30.40 lakh (ex-showroom) and going up to Rs 37.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

Toyota refuses discounts on Hilux

The carmaker released the official statement after news of big discounts on the Hilux made the headlines. According to some media reports, the Hilux was available with massive discounts of up to Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. Select dealerships were also said to offer accessories worth Rs 2 lakh. However, Toyota has declined the claims.

A statement issued by Toyota Kirloskar Motor stated, "With regards to certain media reports on the Toyota Hilux being offered at a highly discounted price, this is to officially communicate that the reports are incorrect. Toyota Kirloskar Motor continues to strictly follow the price list officially announced by the company which ranges from Rs. 30,40,000 - Rs. 37,90,000/- (ex-showroom). All thanks to its Versatility, Capability & Comfort in any terrain, the much-celebrated Hilux continues to enthral the market ever since its launch. We thank our customers for their overwhelming response and look forward to their continued love and appreciation for brand Toyota."

Toyota Hilux variants and powertrain

The Hilux is available in a choice of two variants: Standard and High across five colour options. It is powered by a 2.8-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 204PS and 420Nm of torque (500Nm with AT). This motor comes mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. On top of that, the pickup truck is equipped with a 4x4 system with high and low range transfer case. It also gets an electronic limited slip differential, downhill assist, traction control, and electronic drive control.

Toyota Hilux features

The feature-list of the Hilux consists of an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, analogue instrument cluster with an MID, dual-zone climate control, LED projector headlamps, powered driver seat, 18-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, vehicle stability control, seven airbags, and hill hold control, among others.
