Toyota Kirloskar Motor achieves highest ever monthly sales in July 2022
Toyota Kirloskar Motor said today that it sold a total of 19,693 cars, which is the most the manufacturer has ever sold in a single month since it began operations in India. Consequently, as compared to its wholesales during the same period the previous year, there was a growth of 50 percent. In July 2021, TKM had sold 13,105 units.
TKM also reported a 19 percent increase in wholesale sales from the 16,500 units it sold in June 2022. According to Toyota, the Innova Crysta and Fortuner are still popular options among customers, while the new Glanza and Urban Cruiser are also doing well.
TKM also stated that it was experiencing great demand for its upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, with early bookings suggesting that the powerful hybrid model with self-charging was the more well-liked of the two powertrain options.
In the upcoming weeks, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder is anticipated to be launched in India, where it will compete with vehicles like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The vehicle, created under a Toyota-Maruti Suzuki alliance, would be the two companies' third joint model in India with the upcoming debut of the Grand Vitara, the Hyryder's sibling.
Expressing his thoughts, Atul Sood, Associate Vice President, Sales, and Strategic Marketing, TKM said, "The month of July has been phenomenal for the company. Both in terms of sales as well as our endeavor towards "mass electrification" in India, as we unveiled the first self-charging strong hybrid electric vehicle in the high volume B SUV segment- the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The response to the model has been exceptional, especially the customer's choice for strong hybrids, further reiterating Toyota's global prowess when it comes to the manufacturing and sales of electrified vehicles worldwide. We are humbled by such an encouraging response and would like to thank our customers for placing their trust in the brand.
