Toyota Hyryder CNG launched in India, prices start from Rs 13.23 lakh

Toyota has introduced the Hyryder CNG, with pricing ranging from Rs 13.23 lakh to Rs 15.29 lakh. Toyota had already begun accepting reservations for the Hyryder CNG in November 2022 for a nominal fee of Rs 25,000.

A 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine from Suzuki, producing 103PS and 136Nm, powers the Hyryder CNG. It is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. In CNG mode, the output is adjusted down to 88PS and 121.5Nm. The already efficient engine provides up to 26.6 km per kilogram of CNG and up to 21 kmpl of petrol.

Except for the addition of the CNG badging, the Hyryder CNG maintains the mild-hybrid petrol version's external styling. The Hyryder CNG's inside is all black, and the switchgear and steering wheel are identical to those of its Grand Vitara rival from Maruti. However, Toyota has added a 60-litre CNG tank to the boot, reducing the amount of storage space compared to the gasoline-powered model.

Full-LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, an engine start/stop button, six airbags, cruise control, and a reversing camera with parking sensors are all included in the Hyryder CNG's G specification.

The Grand Vitara CNG, an SUV built on the same chassis as the Toyota Hyryder CNG, is the only direct competition. The Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor are competitors for the non-CNG versions of the two SUVs.
