Toyota has unveiled the first teaser for its future Century SUV, as well as the date for its global premiere, September 6, 2023. Following the tremendous success of the new Vellfire MPV, which just entered Indian markets, the Japanese auto giant has already announced the construction of the Century SUV.

The Century brand first appeared in 1967. It has since been a sedan-only tailored range for the Japanese market. Toyota is likely to abandon the personalised component when the Century SUV becomes worldwide.

Toyota Century SUV: Design

The Century SUV is constructed on the same monocoque chassis as the Toyota Grand Highlander SUV. The Century SUV will be around 5.2 meters long and might include three rows of seats.

The sedan has long been distinguished by a boxy, simple, and beautiful style, and it appears that the SUV will follow like. To emphasize its status as a range-topping SUV, it has a strong belt line that flows into a squared-off quarter panel, horizontal LED rear lights, and brilliant external trim pieces.

Toyota Century SUV: Powertrain

The Century sedan now comes with a V12 petrol engine, but this will not be the case for the Century SUV. Toyota will equip the Century SUV with a petrol-hybrid powertrain, which may be the same as the one found in the Grand Highlander SUV.

This innovative technology combines a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with twin electric motors to produce 245PS. As an alternative, the lineup might comprise a 365PS 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol turbocharged engine combined with an electric motor.

Toyota Century SUV: Interior

Inside, we may anticipate Century SUV to provide 2-row and 3-row seating configurations. Century SUV will be distinguished by its exquisite materials and excellent Takumi workmanship. We hope the Century sedan's folding front passenger seat backrest makes it here as well.

Toyota and Lexus have continually proved their commitment to the Indian market by launching global models as soon as possible. Notable examples include the Vellfire and the future Lexus LM MPV, both of which were hugely successful after their worldwide premieres. On the strength of this trend, industry sources believe Toyota will debut the Century SUV in India in the near future.
