Tata Tiago EV to get selectable regen modes, cruise control

Ahead of the launch of the Tata Tiago EV, Tata Motors has revealed some more feature details of the upcoming electric hatchback. The Tiago EV will launch in India on September 28 and could well be one of the more affordable EVs you can buy in India right now.

Tata Tiago EV features

Tata Motors has released teasers to show that the Tata Tiago EV will get cruise control, a feature unavailable so far on the Tigor EV. The electric hatch will also get selectable regen modes. This feature was introduced on the Tata Nexon EV Max and has since trickled down to the standard Nexon EV. Again, the Tigor EV hasn't received this feature yet although it can be expected to be added soon enough.

Other features expected to be carried over from the Tigor EV are digital instrumentation, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, LED DRLs, projector lamps, push button start/stop. driver seat height adjustment, tilt steering adjustment and LED tailamps.

Tata Tiago EV battery range, charging

The Tiago EV is expected to get the same battery and charging specs as the Tigor EV. The Tigor EV uses the firm's Ziptron high-voltage electric architecture to return an ARAI-certified range of 306 km. A 26 kWh liquid-cooled battery powers a 75PS and 170 Nm permanent magnet electric motor. The battery pack is weather and impact resistant and carries an 8 year and 1.6 lakh km warranty.

Tata Tiago EV expected prices, launch date

The Tata Tiago EV is expected to be priced from Rs 11 lakh onwards. The Tiago EV will have no real competitors when it launches in India on September 28.
