Tata Safari, Harrier, and Nexon Red Dark Edition India launch tomorrow
Tata Motors will launch the new Red Dark Edition versions of the Safari, Harrier, and Nexon in India tomorrow. It has officially announced the launch of these new special-edition vehicles on its social media handles. Earlier this month, Tata released several teasers of the Red Dark Edition SUVs. Notably, the brand already showcased the Red Dark Edition versions of the Safari and Harrier at the 2023 Auto Expo last month.
The most significant updates in the Red Dark Edition versions of the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari will be in the form of a bunch of additional features, new upholstery, and a mildly updated face. To begin with, the Red Dark Edition SUVs will be draped in Oberon Black paint job. There will also be red inserts on the grille, badges on the front fender, and brake calipers. In addition, the Safari and Harrier will come with a redesigned grille.
The SUVs will feature Carnelian Red leatherette upholstery for the seats and handrest. The door handles and parts of the centre console will also bear red accents. However, the highlight of the cabin will be a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a seven-inch fully digital instrument cluster.
On top of cosmetic updates, Tata will bestow the Safari and Harrier Red Dark Edition with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Additionally, the pair will get a 360-degree camera and a powered driver seat with a memory function. On the other hand, the Nexon Red Dark Edition might only come equipped with a 360-degree camera and powered driver seat.
Current Tata for reference
The Safari and Harrier Red Dark will be powered by the same 2.0-litre, inline-four turbocharged diesel engine making 170PS and 350Nm of torque. Whereas, the Nexon Red Dark will also get the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor and 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel unit. Notably. Tata has already made these engines RDE (BS6 phase-2) compliant and E20 fuel ready.
