Tata Nexon i-CNG to headline the Tata Motors stand at Bharat Mobility Show 2024

The Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 begins on February 1 and it seems to be creating quite a lot of buzz as several manufacturers are lining up to showcase their upcoming vehicles and technologies. Tata Motors is one of the key participants and the brand has given its lists of passenger vehicles which will be shown during the event held in New Delhi. Let's take a quick look.

Tata Nexon i-CNG

The Nexon i-CNG concept is based on the newly facelifted Nexon SUV and has looks and features that are nearly comparable to the petrol/diesel-powered Nexon. There are no exact specifics about its powertrain yet, but we expect Tata will sell Nexon CNG with the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine as the ICE Nexon, albeit with a detuned configuration. With the introduction of the CNG model, the Nexon will become India's first vehicle to offer four different fuel options at once – petrol, diesel, CNG and electric.

Nexon i-CNG, like the other CNG cars in the Tata Motors portfolio, will have a twin-cylinder system in the boot space, allowing for a substantially larger cargo room than single-cylinder arrangements. Nexon i-CNG will sport features such as a single ECU, direct start in CNG mode, modular air filter, and auto transition between fuel and CNG.

Tata Motors at Bharat Mobility Show

The Harrier EV was last showcased at the Auto Expo last year and it will again be present at the Bharat Mobility Show. The display model at the exhibition is projected to be more production-ready. Tata Motors is also anticipated to announce some critical details about the Harrier EV.

Another car that will be present is the Tata Curvv Concept, which is set to hit production in the coming months. The Curvv will first be launched in its EV avatar after which its petrol and diesel models will be introduced. Like the concept, the production versions will have a towering posture and a dynamic silhouette thanks to a steeply tapered coupe-like roofline. Tata recently also trademarked the design of the Curvv.

Tata will also bring along the Altroz Racer to the Bharat Mobility Show. The talking point of Altroz Racer will be the new 1.2-litre TGDI turbocharged petrol powerplant from Tata Motors. This motor is said to generate over 120PS and 225Nm of torque, possibly making the Altroz Racer the hot hatch that we all desired.
