Tata Motors Launch Adventure X Variants for Harrier and Safari

Tata Motors has introduced the Adventure X persona for its Harrier and Safari SUVs, aiming to boost their appeal with a host of new features and updated technology. The new offering promises a blend of off-road readiness, comfort, and advanced driver assistance. This puts the Harrier and the Safari on a race of features and creature comforts with its already established performance and fortified safety features.

On the exterior, there are no visible changes on the Harrier and Safari apart from the 360-degree camera on the front, and the new paint scheme. The Harrier sports a seaweed green shade while the Safari comes clad in a more earthy copper brown shade, as both cars with the Adventure X trim are supposed to be close to nature, hence the nature-inspired colours.

The Adventure X persona brings several segment-first features to the Harrier and Safari, including Adaptive Cruise Control (AT), a 360° HD Surround View camera system, Trail Hold Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, and Trail Response Modes for Normal, Rough, and Wet terrains. These additions attempt to address increasing customer demand for SUVs that can handle varied driving conditions while offering modern safety tech.

Inside, the Adventure X you find premium touches like an Ergo Lux Driver Seat with memory and welcome functions, a 26.03 cm Ultra-View Twin Screen System, and Multi Drive Modes (City, Sport, Eco). The persona also features a Land Rover-derived Command Shifter and Trail Sense Auto Headlamps, aiming to elevate both design and utility.

The SUV market is increasingly competitive, and Tata Motors aims to make a strong statement towards the competition with its affordable price point, which is the crux of the matter. The Adventure X's emphasis on traditional off-road tech and feature loadout might just be a winning strike at beating the competition, which brings in these features but at a fairly expensive price point. The Adventure X personas are here to change the entire lineup scheme of both the cars, which, from 11 variants, have been reduced to 5 variants for the Safari and 6 for the Harrier. This allows Tata Motors to condense its offerings into neatly divided variants to suit every customer's purpose.

Tata has positioned the Adventure X as the most powerful and feature-loaded variant, and it sits just below the top-of-the-line Accomplished variant in the current lineup. The Harrier now comes in Adventure X and Adventure X+ trims, while the Safari is offered only in the Adventure X+ variant. The updated range aims to cater to customers seeking ruggedness combined with smarter tech, at a competitive price. The Harrier Adventure X is priced at 18.99 lakhs and the Adventure X+ at 19.34 lakhs (Ex-showroom). The Safari Adventure X+ is priced at 19.99 lakhs (Ex-showroom)

With the SUV segment evolving rapidly, the Adventure X persona is a step forward for Tata Motors, but may need further innovation to sustain momentum. Buyers looking for a balance of adventure and tech will find a compelling package, though those seeking cutting-edge advances may still look elsewhere.
