Tata Altroz Dark Edition XT and XZ Plus launched, prices start from Rs 7.96 lakh

On the second anniversary of the launch of the Tata Altroz, Tata Motors has expanded the hatchback's line-up by launching more Dark edition trims. Now the Altroz can be had with the blacked-out package in its mid-spec XT trim and in the top XZ Plus diesel variant. Prices start from Rs 7.96 lakh for the Altroz Dark XT.

Tata Altroz Dark Edition XT

The Tata Altroz Dark edition adds a Cosmo Black exterior body colour while interiors get a contrasting black and blue theme with Granite Black upholstery and gloss black highlights. The tri-arrow perforations and stitching are in a contrasting blue. In the Altroz XT Dark edition, there are black covers for the hyper style steel wheels, height-adjustable driver seat, rear headrest, leather-wrapped steering wheels and gear knob. Other notable features are Harman 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple Carplay, LED DRLs, front fog lamps with cornering function, keyless entry, push-button start and cruise control.

Tata Altroz Dark Edition XZ Plus diesel

The Altroz Dark Edition was only available with the 1.2 N/A petrol and the turbo variants earlier, but the line up has now been expanded to include the 1.5-litre diesel with the top-end XZ Plus variant. The 1.5-litre Revotorq turbo-diesel 4-cylinder pairs with a five-speed manual and is a detuned version of the one found in the Nexon and makes 90PS at 4,000rpm and 200Nm at 1,250-3,000rpm. Additionally, this variant now gets more safety features like brake sway control and tyre pressure monitoring. The Altroz XZ Plus gets projector headlamps, a semi-digital instrument cluster, leatherette seats, turn-by-turn navigation, connected-car tech among other features.

Aside from the diesel, the Altroz can also be had with the 1.2-litre Revotron 3-cylinder petrol, as seen on the Tiago, with 86PS at 6,000rpm and 113Nm at 3,300rpm. The Altroz iTurbo is powered by a detuned version of the three-cylinder 1.2-litre turbo-petrol from the Nexon. The motor makes 110PS at 5,500rpm and 140 Nm at 1,500- 5,500 rpm and pairs with a five-speed manual gearbox. Prices for the Tata Altroz start from Rs 5.99 lakh for the XE and go up to Rs 9.67 lakh for the XZ Plus diesel. The Altroz XZ Plus diesel will be the new top trim.
