Suzuki eVX looks production ready at the Japan Mobility Show
Alongside the new Swift (concept), Suzuki has also displayed the almost production-ready eVX electric SUV. The Suzuki eVX was displayed at the Auto Expo 2023 in India and what we see here are the final images before the vehicle goes into production. The production version of this car will be the Japanese automaker's first EV, with manufacturing beginning in late 2024 at their Gujarat factory.
Maruti had already specified that the new SUV would be 4,300mm long, 1,800mm wide, and 1,600mm high. It will also have a wheelbase of 2,700mm. Maruti has also stated that it would be built on a specific new BEV platform and will have a battery capacity of 500km.
Power figures are expected to be somewhere between 140PS and 170PS. We also anticipate an all-wheel drive variant to be offered alongside the front-wheel drive standard offering.
The SUV has a tapering roofline that adds to its sporty appeal. The Suzuki EVX, like the Fronx, will have an integrated spoiler and sharp tail lights with a full-width connecting LED strip. It also includes silver-coloured multi-spoke alloy wheels, front door-mounted ORVMs, a shark-fin antenna, a number plate recess in the rear bumper, and a rear wiper.
The Suzuki eVX is expected to feature a simple interior with twin integrated screens for the driver and infotainment. The four vertical slats on the dashboard resemble vertically oriented AC vents, while the central panel appears to have touch buttons for critical tasks.
A redesigned two-spoke steering wheel with a windswept appearance complements the dashboard style. Another noteworthy feature is the lack of tactile buttons within the SUV. With the eVX, Suzuki appears to be going for an entirely digital experience.
