Simple Energy One production to begin in January 2023
Bengaluru-based electric mobility start-up, Simple Energy, has finally shown some a positive sign of going into production with its One electric scooter, with the company stating that its first manufacturing/production facility - deemed the Simple Vision 1.0 - will commence its operations from January 19, 2023. Deliveries for the much awaited e-scooter will begin shortly thereafter. Simple Energy say that trial production runs are currently ongoing at the facility which is spread across 200,000 sqft in Shoolagiri, Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
Simple Energy say that the new Simple Vision 1.0 facility has the capacity to manufacture up to 1 million units annually while adhering to industry 4.0 standards and it even comprises its own motor line to manufacture its own proprietary motor.
Now, we really enjoyed our day spent with the pre-production model the last time around (Click here to check out the Simple One First Ride review). But like everyone else, we're still waiting to see an actual finished Simple One product roll off the company's production line. Could this factory inauguration announcement finally signal the end of the long wait for a finished production model? We'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully this time the company will adhere to the timelines that it sets for itself.
