Porsche recently updated the Taycan EV and also launched the Macan EV showing us a clear sign of them future-proofing their portfolio. Adding to this onslaught, Porsche has now updated the Panamera range with 2 new plug-in hybrid models in the form of the new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid. While introducing the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid late last year, Porsche promised four Panamera E-Hybrid models with the fourth model set to be announced later.

Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and 4S E-Hybrid: Powertrain

First, the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is powered by a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 470PS and 600Nm of torque when combined with the electric motor. The Panamera 4S E-Hybrid likewise has a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6, but its combined output is up to 544PS and 750Nm of torque. Both cars can also travel on just electric power for well over 90 km.

The 2025 Panamera 4 E-Hybrid accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.1 seconds and has a peak speed of 280 kmph. The Panamera 4S E-Hybrid completes the identical duty in 3.7 seconds and can reach 290 kmph.

The Panamera E-Hybrid now uses a larger 25.9 kWh battery which is 45 percent larger and its 11kW on-board AC charger allows it to be charged in two and a half hours. The cars continue to be mated to Porsche's iconic 8-speed PDK transmission.

Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and 4S E-Hybrid: Features

The 4 E-Hybrid does include Porsche's Matrix LED lighting, black brake callipers, and 19-inch wheels. The 4S E-Hybrid variants stand out in this aspect, with 20-inch AeroDesign rims. For an additional fee, you may also opt for the carbon ceramic brakes, which will further upgrade your Panamera to 21-inch wheels.

The interior of the car comes with a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10.9-inch passenger display as an option. There are fewer physical controls than the previous Panamera, and many climate-control functions have been relocated to the touchscreen. The air vents may be adjusted electrically, and the gear selector has been relocated from the centre console to a toggle button next to the steering wheel.

This current gen of the Panamera is available in India at a starting price of Rs 1.68 crore (ex-showroom). Keep in mind, this is the price of the base variant car with just standard equipment.
