Polo goes electric as ID. Polo EV

The Volkswagen ID Polo is the new electrified iconic Polo and is all set to be launched in 2026. The concept is called ID. is based on the next evolutionary stage of the modular electric drive (MEB) platform: the MEB+.

Volkswagen will offer the new model along with the current Polo. In future, customers will be able to choose between an all-electric Polo and a Polo powered by efficient combustion engines in this class. The sticker price is expected to be below 25,000 Euros.

Volkswagen will offer the ID. Polo1|2 with two different battery sizes as well as three and later four output stages - all versions will have four doors. There will be three equipment versions for the market launch in 2026.

All models will be launched with a newly developed efficiency battery, standard DC charging function and front-wheel drive configuration. There will be three output stages in the start-up phase. The world premiere of the 166 kW (226 PS) ID. Polo GTI1|2 – the first electric GTI – is also set to follow next year.

The technical highlights of the product line will optionally include the latest generation of Travel Assist, which enables automatic lane changing and offers traffic light detection for the first time. It also gets Park Assist Plus with memory function and the 360° camera Area View.

The Modular Drive (MEB) platform underpins the ID. Polo and it is 4,053 mm long, 1,816 mm wide, 1,530 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.
