Oben Electric launches affordable battery protection plan
Oben Electric has launched Protect 8/80 plan. Starting May 1st, customers can avail this battery warranty that offers 8 years or 80,000 km of coverage at an affordable price of Rs 9,999.
Offered under the brand's Oben Protect platform, the warranty ensures complete coverage on battery performance, including repairs, replacements, and all battery-related concerns. Customers are guaranteed that the Rorr EZ's top speed and acceleration will remain consistent over the warranty period, which takes care of one of the most pressing concerns for EV owners in real-world usage scenarios. And the warranty is also fully transferable.
All Oben Electric vehicles house the Oben's proprietary high-performance Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery technology which is designed, developed, and manufactured in-house to suit the demanding Indian terrain and climate. Oben's LFP battery claims to withstand up to 50 per cent higher temperature.

The Protect 8/80 plan is available to both existing and new customers offering coverage for both the 3.4 kWh and 4.4 kWh battery variants of the Rorr EZ. Designed for daily commuters, the Rorr EZ boasts an IDC range of 175 km, accelerates from 0-40 km/h in a claimed 3.3 seconds, and reaches a claimed top speed of 95 kmph and it is available at an ex-showroom price of Rs 89,999. The new battery warranty plan is offered across Oben Electric's 36 showrooms nationwide.
