Nissan India has attained a domestic wholesale of 3913 vehicles and exports of 3004 vehicles for Nissan and Datsun for October 2021, thanks to the successful introduction of the all-new Nissan Magnite.

Domestic wholesale was 1105 vehicles in October 2020, with 75 vehicles exported. For the month of October, Nissan India had a 254 percent increase in its domestic market.

Nissan India's domestic sales number for October 2020 was 1,105 units, representing a tremendous 254 percent year-over-year increase. Nissan India sold a total of 2,816 units in September 2021, resulting in a month-on-month rise of roughly 39 percent in October 2021.

Last month's export data showed an even higher YoY increase of 3,905 percent compared to the same month the previous year when only 75 units were sent. The Nissan Magnite is the primary driver of the company's sales growth in India. The tiny crossover, which debuted in December of last year, rapidly became Nissan's most popular vehicle in the market.

The Nissan Magnite comes with two engine choices. The first is a 1.0-litre NA gasoline engine that produces 72 PS and 96 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The second is a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 100 PS and 160 Nm of torque (152 Nm on CVT variants). Both come with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, with a CVT option available for the turbocharged engine.

Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Ltd. said "The first seven months cumulative sales are higher than the cumulative sales of last full financial year in spite of the challenges of Covid-19 and Semiconductor shortages affecting supplies. In continuation of the positive momentum, this festive season has been very good with the channel partners delivering highest monthly retail sales on strong performance of Big Bold and Beautiful Nissan Magnite & Nissan Kicks. Going forward on the strength of strong bookings of Nissan Magnite & the support of the supply chain our endeavour will be to maintain this growth momentum for the upcoming months,"
