New Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 deliveries commence in India

After launching the long-awaited new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 at the Motoverse 2023, the brand has commenced its customer deliveries in India. The ADV has been priced at at Rs 2.69 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, introductory) and is available in three variants: Base, Pass, and Summit. With its bookings now underway, it is to be noted that the introductory prices will be applicable until 31 December, 2023.

New Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Highlights

The new Himalayan 450 gets various features, such as a ride-by-wire system, a Bluetooth-enabled four-inch colour TFT display, all-LED lighting, dual-channel and switchable ABS, three ride modes, slip-and-assist clutch, and a USB Type-C port.

Additionally, Royal Enfield has given it 43mm Showa upside-down front forks, a linkage-type rear monoshock (both offer 200mm wheel travel), a 320mm single front disc with a dual piston calliper, and a 270mm rear disc with a single piston calliper. The motorcycles features a 90/90 21 section front tyre, and 140/80 R17 section rear tyre. The new Himalayan 450 weighs196kg (90 per cent fuel and oil) and has a fuel tank capacity of 17 litres. Besides that, the ground clearance is rated at 230mm.

New Royal Enfield Himalayan: Engine, power ouput, and gearbox

Powering the new Himalayan 450 is a new 451.65cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC unit paired with a six-speed gearbox and produces 40.02PS at 8,000rpm and 40Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. Its rivals, such as the KTM 390 Adventure produces 43.5PS at 9,000rpm and 37Nm of torque at 7,000rpm, while the BMW G 310 GS delivers 34PS at 9,250rpm and 28Nm at 7,500rpm.

New Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Ex-showroom prices

The Base variant is offered with Kaza Brown shade cost Rs 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Pass variant is available with two shades: Slate Poppy Blue and Slate Himalayan Salt, priced at Rs 2.74 lakh (ex-showroom). Further, the Summit trim is can be had either in Kamet White or Hanle Black. These colours set you back for Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 2.84 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
