Customers can also own the new Swift with the Maruti Suzuki Subscribe programme, where a monthly subscription fee will set you back from Rs 17,436 onwards. With this generational update, the Swift gets a new Z-series three-cylinder engine, and we recently carried out acceleration test of its manual and AMT versions. Let us glance at the rear-world performance figures.

We started with the zero to 100kmph test of the Swift five-speed manual gearbox, which took 13.11 seconds. On the flip side, the Swift AMT 5.08 seconds (18.19 seconds) more to cover the distance from standstill to 100kmph. Not only that, we also tested the AMT with the manual mode and with air condition running in auto mode, and the results were 15.24 seconds and 20.02 seconds, respectively.

The fourth generation Swift is powered by a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated Z12E petrol engine that delivers 81.58PS at 5,700rpm and 111.7Nm of torque at 4,300rpm.
