New Aprilia RS 457 India launch tomorrow

Aprilia is all geared up to announce the prices of its long-awaited RS 457 tomorrow at the India Bike Week (IBW) 2023, which will take place between 8 and 9 December in Vagator, Goa. The India's one of the largest motorcycling festival will also celebrate its 10th anniversary this year.

Aprilia RS 457: Engine specifications

Powering the RS 457 is a new 457cc, parallel twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that delivers 47.58PS (35kW) at 9,400rpm and 43.5Nm of torque at 6,700rpm. This motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.

Aprilia RS 457: Highlights

With its aluminium frame, the dry weight of the supersport is rated at 159kg, while the wet weight is 175kg wet. It comes with upside-down front forks, a rear monoshock, a 320mm front disc with a radial-mounted four-piston calliper, and a 220mm rear disc.

Plus, Aprilia has given it all-LED lighting, traction control, ride-by-wire, dual-channel ABS, a five-inch TFT colour display, backlit handlebar controls, quick-shifter, three riding modes. Meanwhile, the India-spec model is expected to be available in three colour options.

Aprilia RS 457: Pricing and Rivals

The upcoming Aprilia RS 457 is likely to be priced at around Rs 4-6 lakh. Notably, for the first time, an Aprilia motorcycle, in the form of the new RS 457, will be manufactured at the Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited facility in Baramati, Maharashtra. Hence, it might have the edge its direct rivals in terms of pricing. on In India, it will compete against the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 400, and the upcoming Yamaha YZF-R3. The brand has already launched the RS 457 in the United States and Canada at $6,899 and $7,799, respectively.
