MG Motors pulls the plug on the 'Super' variant of the Hector
The MG Hector will now only be available only in four variants after MG Motors has announced that it will discontinue its Super variant from the Hector lineup.
In the Hector range, MG Motors launched a new mid-spec Shine version not too long ago. The Super variant of the Hector, which was slotted between the basic Style and the mid Shine variant, has been withdrawn by MG Motors.
A 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission in the petrol version. Buyers who want an automatic transmission can choose between a dual-clutch automatic and a CVT. A mild-hybrid system is also included in the manual models. It puts out a decent 142PS and torque of 250 Nm. The diesel version comes with a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. This engine produces 169PS and 350 Nm of torque.
The Super variant was equipped with a fair amount of features like LED headlights, LED taillights, a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, keyless entry and rearview camera, among others.
In addition, the MG Hector diesel's higher Smart and Sharp variants have received a Rs 15,000 price increase. The MG Hector Smart diesel version is now priced at Rs 17.95 lakh and the Sharp variant starts at Rs 19.26 lakh (ex-showroom).
