Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 facelift India launch soon: What should you expect?

Mercedes-Benz India is set to launch the 2024 Maybach GLS 600 facelift alongside the AMG S 63 E Performance in India on Wednesday, 22 May. The GLS, including the Maybach and AMG versions, received several updates in late 2023. The mid-cycle facelift introduced subtle cosmetic changes, new paint schemes, updated interior themes, and mild hybrid functionality.

The refreshed Maybach GLS features an updated headlight cluster, signature vertical chrome bars with the "Maybach" lettering, air inlet grilles with the Maybach pattern and chrome accents, and new 23-inch Maybach alloy wheels. Additionally, the facelift includes two new colour options: Sodalite Blue (metallic) and Manufaktur Alpine Grey (non-metallic).

Inside, the ambient lighting now includes an animated projection of the Mercedes-Maybach pattern as standard. The facelift also offers newly designed seat covers, a new steering wheel, updated MBUX, diamond-pattern quilting with specific perforations for the centre sections of the seat surfaces and backrests, and exclusive Maybach colour combinations such as Manufaktur crystal white/silver grey pearl and Manufaktur mahogany brown/macchiato beige.

With the optional MBUX entertainment setup, rear-seat passengers can use up to three touchscreens and access various control options, including the "Hey Mercedes" voice assistant, which can now be activated without the keyword "Hey Mercedes."

Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 Facelift: Engine Specifications

The Maybach GLS is powered by a 3,982cc turbocharged V8 engine producing 557PS and 730Nm of torque. It now benefits from an additional 22PS and 250Nm brief power boost from the electric motor, allowing it to accelerate from zero to 100kmph in 4.2 seconds. It can reach a top speed of 250kmph.

The outgoing Maybach GLS costs just under Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom), however, we expect the updated model to command a higher premium of Rs 20-40 lakh.
