Mahindra & Mahindra, AJAI commences Bharat Drive to celebrate India's road of progess

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., in collaboration with the Automotive Journalists Association of India (AJAI), has unveiled the 'Bharat Drive' initiative, aiming to highlight India's infrastructural progress against the backdrop of its vibrant democratic process. As a part of this new event, participants will drive the Mahindra Scorpio-N to various monuments and major cities across the country.

The Bharat Drive recently began with a ceremonial flag-off at Mahindra's manufacturing facility in Kandivali, Mumbai. Founders and key members of AJAI attended this event, along with editors from twelve leading automotive publications, including Kranti Sambhav, Editor of OVERDRIVE, and Rohit Paradkar, Assistant Editor of OVERDRIVE. This gathering indicates a collective commitment to showcasing India's infrastructural advancements.

The drive will feature remarkable landmarks of national pride and infrastructure, such as India's inaugural expressway connecting Ahmedabad and Vadodara, the monumental Samruddhi Mahamarg, the world's largest solar project at Bhadla, and the extraordinary Sela tunnel, which is at an elevation of 13,000 feet. Each location showcases significant progress in economic connectivity and convenience across the nation.

Speaking on the occasion, Yogendra Pratap Singh, President, AJAI and Editor of Auto Today, said, "The Bharat Drive in collaboration with Mahindra Automotive and supported by JK Tyre, is a showcase of the narrative about India's ambition and collective progress. The vehicle chosen for 10000 km plus drive, the Scorpio-N stands as a symbol of strength and reliability, qualities that resonate with the spirit of this drive. Through our collaboration, we aim to highlight the critical role of infrastructure and technology in shaping our nation."

The Automotive Journalists Association of India (AJAI) gathers leading media professionals in the automotive sector on a national platform to address pressing issues. AJAI also mentors young automotive journalists and supports industry veterans. Not to mention, it is the custodian of the prestigious Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) and Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) Awards, which honour excellence and innovation in the Indian automotive industry.
