Maruti Suzuki Dzire achieves 25 lakh units sales milestone
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has reached a significant milestone by selling 25 lakh units in the Indian market since its debut. This achievement solidifies the Dzire's position with a commanding 50 percent market share in its segment. The Dzire has been a staple in the market for the past 15 years, spanning three generations.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire Sales Milestone
The Dzire made its debut in 2008 and reached the 1 lakh units sales mark during the 2009-10 financial year. It continued its success, achieving the 5 lakh units sales milestone in the FY 2012-13. By the FY 2015-16, Maruti had sold 10 lakh units of the sedan, culminating in the remarkable achievement of 20 lakh units sales in the FY 2019-20.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire Powertrain
The sedan offers a choice of four variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+, along with two CNG-powered variants. It is equipped with a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a five-speed AMT. This engine generates 87.9PS at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 4,400rpm.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire Highlights
Maruti has equipped the Dzire with a range of features, including auto LED projector headlamps, ESP, ABS with EBD, brake assist, cruise control, auto-fold ORVMs, SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, engine start/stop switch, and rear air-con vents, among others.
