Mahindra BE.05 SUV spotted testing up close once again

Mahindra is getting ready for a complete EV push in the coming years with the upcoming BE and XUV.e range of electric SUVs. In August of last year, Mahindra unveiled the BE.05 SUV concept which will be the first of the many heavily anticipated EVs. The EV SUV has now once again been spotted testing up close before it goes on sale in October 2025.

Mahindra BE.05: Design

We see enormous LED DRLs in the front that we have never seen from any other manufacturer. However, it appears to be just how we imagined. Mahindra has released a few official photographs of the automobile, but they were only from above.

The tail light LED signatures seem to have a very aggressive design. These test mules were outfitted with temporary generic tail lights rather than production-spec LEDs. There is a tiny back windscreen and an extremely sporty and futuristic roof spoiler above it.

Mahindra BE.05: Powertrain

The EV-specific INGLO platform underpins Mahindra's BE 05. The car is likely to have a 79-kWh battery pack with a range of up to 450 kilometres. Mahindra claims 175 kW rapid charging capabilities, allowing the BE 05 to charge from 5 percent to 80 percent in less than half an hour.

The BE.05 will be available with 2WD and 4WD drivetrains. According to Mahindra, rear-wheel-drive models might generate up to 285PS, while all-wheel-drive variants could provide up to 394PS.

Mahindra BE.05: Interior

The vehicle is expected to include a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, electrically adjustable front seats, a freestanding completely digital instrument cluster, fabric door handles, and a floating centre console on the inside.

The Mahindra BE.05 SUV, which will be on sale in October 2025, will sit above the XUV400 EV and will compete directly with the Tata Curvv EV, which is also expected to go on sale in 2024. You can read more about the interior of the Mahindra BE.05 here.
