Made-in-India Suzuki Jimny five-door launched in South Africa

Japanese automaker Suzuki has launched the new Jimny five-door in South Africa with prices ranging between 373,826 Rand to 417,304 Rand, before VAT. The South Africa-spec Jimny five-door comes in three variants across a various colour options and a single petrol engine.

In comparison, the India-spec Jimny five-door prices start from Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in two variants: Zeta and Alpha across seven colours: Nexa Blue, Sizzling Red, Bluish Black, Pearl Arctic White, and Granite Grey, along with Sizzling Red with a Bluish Black roof, and Kinetic Yellow with a Bluish Black roof.

The South African-spec Jimny 5-door gets features similar to the India-spec model, such as projector halogen headlamps, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SmartPlay Pro+, automatic climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, fog lamps, auto folding ORVMs, engine start/stop switch, cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, six airbags, electronic stability programme, ABS with EBD, hill hold and descent control, a reverse camera, and ISOFIX anchor points, among others.

Suzuki Jimny five-door Powertrain

Powering the South Africa-spec Jimny 5-door is a K15B 1.5-litre, inline four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual or a four-speed torque-convertor automatic transmission. This motor makes 105PS and 136Nm of torque. The SUV comes equipped with AllGrip Pro four-wheel-drive system across three variants. Notably, the India-spec manual variant is claimed to give out a mileage of 16.94kmpl, while the automatic variant return a fuel economy of 16.39kmpl.
