Launched simultaneously with the Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine on which its based, the Mercedes-AMG A35 sedan is priced at Rs 56.24 lakh, ex-showroom. Powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder twin-scroll turbo-petrol engine tweaked by AMG, it makes 306PS/400Nm. Paired with a 7-speed AMG Speedshift DCT, the all-wheel drive A35 clears the 0-100kmph metric in 4.8s, and goes onto a top speed electronically limited to 250kmph. Head to our review here to see what we think of the second-ever locally-assembled AMG product for India.

The Mercedes-AMG A35 is also available with the same 8-year drivetrain warranty that's on offer with the regular A-Class Limousine. In a somewhat niche category, the A35 AMG has no direct rivals, but is priced close to where the recently launched, and also locally-assembled BMW M340i sedan resides, at Rs 62.9 lakh, ex-showroom.

Visually distinguishable from the regular A-Class Limousine by its single-slat grille, redesigned bumpers front and rear, twin tail pipe exits, and AMG wheels, the A35 AMG looks the part. It's also available in a more youthful palette of colours apart from what's available on the A-Class Limousine. Standard features include the twin-screen MBUX system, Burmester audio, 64-colour ambient lighting, and AMG-specific seats and steering wheel.
