The Lexus LX 500d has been introduced in India for Rs 2.82 crore (ex-showroom). The company plans to deliver the first batch of the big SUV in January 2023.

The Japanese automaker will attend the Auto Expo and display the LX 500d with the new RX SUV.

The Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 uses the same chassis as the Lexus LX500d, which will be imported in its entirety (CBU). According to reports, dealerships began taking reservations as early as October.

The LX500d measures 5.1 meters in length and offers a ground clearance of 210 mm, and has optional 22-inch rims on offer.

A 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine with 309PS and 700 Nm powers the LX500d. The engine will be coupled with an all-wheel drive system and a 10-speed automated transmission. Additionally, it has several drive modes, including Custom, Normal, Eco, Comfort, Sport S, and Sport S+.

The LX 500d's interior has a dual-screen layout, with the bottom 7.0-inch screen as the temperature control system and the higher 12.3-inch screen as the infotainment system. In the instrument cluster, there is also an 8.0-inch multi-information display. Additionally, there will be two 11.6-inch touchscreens with wireless remote controls for the backseat passengers.

The Lexus LX500d is strictly available in India as a 5-seater and will compete against the new Range Rover and Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600.
