Kia Seltos becomes fastest SUV to achieve three lakh sales
The Kia Seltos has achieved its three lakh sales figure quicker than any other SUV i the country. Kia's debut offering for India has crossed this mark in just under three years, having launched in the country in August 2019.
Kia Seltos popular variants
The Seltos is Kia's most popular offering in India, accounting for 60 per cent of the company's sales. The top variants account for 58 per cent of all Seltos' sold while the automatic accounts for 25 per cent of sales. The most popular Seltos variant is the HTX petrol and the most popular colour choice is white. Petrol and diesel fuel options are nearly equally preferred among buyers of the Kia Seltos, with diesel vehicles accounting for 46 per cent of sales. The iMT gearbox option accounts for 10 per cent of sales. The Seltos is also widely exported, 1,03,033 units have been exported to 91 countries so far.
2022 Kia Seltos new features, variants
The 2022 Kia Seltos gets some mechanical updates like a new iMT clutchless manual variant to go with the 1.5-litre diesel making 115PS and 250 Nm. This is limited to HTK Plus variant. Alongside this, there is a new suspension tune for the mid-sized SUV, which may be to improve road-holding and ride quality. A more accessible HTX diesel auto variant has also been added to the lineup. Further, all automatic variants of the Seltos now get paddle shifters and drive modes. Both the Seltos and Sonet now get new badging in line with Kia's new global theme, while the Seltos also gets new wheel covers for the base variants. The X-Line now also gets embroidered logos on the seats.
There has been a significant enhancement of safety features too with the 2022 Seltos. Six airbags, TPMS, rear disc brakes, stability control, brake assist and vehicle stability management are now standard across all variants.
2022 Kia Seltos prices, rivals
Prices for the Kia Seltos start from Rs 10.49 lakh for the HTE 1.5 petrol and go up to Rs 18.65 lakh for the X Line diesel AT. The Seltos rivals the likes of the Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700 as well as the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
