2022 Kia Seltos and Sonet get more features and safety equipment
Kia India has updated the Kia Seltos and Sonet SUVs with more features, added safety equipment and made minor visual enhancements. This comes on the back of increased competition in these segments and seems to have been done to shore up these SUVs' credentials.
2022 Kia Seltos new features, variants
The 2022 Kia Seltos gets some mechanical updates like a new iMT clutchless manual variant to go with the 1.5-litre diesel making 115PS and 250 Nm. This is limited to HTK Plus variant. Alongside this, there is a new suspension tune for the mid-sized SUV, which may be to improve road-holding and ride quality. A more accessible HTX diesel auto variant has also been added to the lineup. Further, all automatic variants of the Seltos now get paddle shifters and drive modes. Both the Seltos and Sonet now get new badging in line with Kia's new global theme, while the Seltos also gets new wheel covers for the base variants. The X-Line now also gets embroidered logos on the seats.
There has been a significant enhancement of safety features too with the 2022 Seltos. Four airbags, TPMS, rear disc brakes, stability control, brake assist and vehicle stability management are now standard across all variants. Six airbags are now available on the HTX Plus and GTX (O) variants, up from the GTX Plus and X-Line.
2022 Kia Sonet new features, variants

The fabric loop seat folder mechanism has now been upgraded to plastic knobs as well. The mid-spec Sonet HTK Plus and diesel HTK now get more safety equipment like hill assist, stability control, brake assist and vehicle stability management.
