At the 2021 Seoul Transportation Show, Kia unveiled the all-new Kia Niro, which aspires to make sustainable mobility accessible to everyone.

The 2019 HabaNiro concept serves as inspiration for the second-generation Kia Niro. For the all-new Niro, the distinctive 'tiger nose' grille has been revised. It now stretches from the bonnet to the robust fender beneath.

The front design is finished with the 'heartbeat' LED DRL. Overall, Niro has a high-tech two-tone body and a sporty and striking crossover design. The SUV's back taillights are styled like a boomerang.

To fulfil the need for sustainable transportation options, Kia has also launched the 'Greenzone Drive Mode,' which automatically switches the (P)HEV into EV mode. Based on navigation cues and driving history data, the car automatically utilises electric power when driving in green zones such as residential neighbourhoods, schools, and hospitals. It also detects a driver's favourite locations, such as home and workplace, which are marked as green zones on the guidance system.

The inside boasts an off-centre dash with horizontal and diagonal lines that bends around the front occupants, as well as an easy-to-use centre console with an electronic dial-type shift lever. For a contemporary aesthetic, it is mounted on a high-gloss black surface. The audio-visual screen and air vents are housed within the dash's diagonal gaps, which also include ambient mood lighting.

Ho Sung Song, President and CEO of Kia, said, "Kia continues to take steps towards a more sustainable future, inviting everyone to join the movement into the new mobility era. The all-new Kia Niro makes it simple to practice a sustainable lifestyle with its eco-friendly materials, advanced technology and electric powertrains while it also fulfils the practical needs of customers."

Kia hasn't revealed the Niro's powertrain lineup, however, they have confirmed that it will be offered in hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric models.
