Kia EV6 bookings are officially underway for 2023

Kia India has officially opened bookings for the next batch of its flagship electric, the Kia EV6. The car is imported in limited quantities as completely built-up units (CBUs), and while Kia has sold 432 units in India since its introduction in June 2022, Kia hopes to raise that number in 2023. Kia India has priced the EV6 from Rs 60.95 lakh for the GT Line and Rs 65.95 lakh for the GT Line AWD (ex-showroom).

The Hyundai EV6 is quite a futuristic-looking EV built on the Hyundai Group's exclusive electric platform, the E-GMP architecture shared with the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Kia India is reopening bookings for the EV6 for the 2023 batch while also providing unique advantages to the first 200 owners of the electric crossover. The incentives include a 95 percent refund policy within 30 days of purchase, free yearly maintenance for five years, and a battery warranty of eight years or 1.60 lakh kilometers.

A 77.4kWh battery pack is standard, capable of delivering up to 708km of ARAI-tested range. Speaking specifics of the drivetrains, the Kia EV6 in its single-motor layout produces 229PS/350Nm torque, while the dual-motor AWD model produces 325PS/605Nm torque. Both can accept up to 350kW charge rates, for a 10-80 per cent charge in just 18 minutes, while a 50kW fast charger will achieve the same feat in 73 minutes.

While the winner of the 2023 Green Car Award by ICOTY does behold quite a price tag, it does come with the aesthetics and features to speak for itself. The EV6 features a large electric sunroof, powered tailgate, dual 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment and driver's instrumentation, a large heads-up display with augmented reality and a 14-speaker Meridian sound system.

The EV6 also comes standard with a comprehensive set of driving assistance systems (ADAS), including lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision avoidance, and blind-spot collision avoidance help. The EV6 rivals the Volvo XC40 Recharge, BMW i4 and its South Korean cousin, the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
