Kawasaki KLX 230 launched for Rs 1.99 lakh

The new Kawasaki KLX 230 has been launched for Rs 1.99 lakh which is a massive price cut of Rs 1.30 lakh on the outgoing model.  The bike was launched last year for a price of Rs 3.30 lakh, and because of localisation the price has been slashed heavily.

The bike uses a 233cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, four stroke engine that comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The engine pushes 19 PS and 19 Nm of peak torque. The engine is housed in a perimeter frame and the bike tips the scales at 139 kg. The suspension duties are done by a 37 mm telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. Suspension has gone through some changes as a part of the update, front suspension travel is 220 mm and at the rear is 223 mm, the travel has gone down by 20 mm and 27 mm respectively. The braking duties are done by disc brakes at both ends, a 290 mm rotor up front and a 230 mm rotor at the rear.

The bike has a seat height of 880 mm, a fuel tank capacity of 7.5-litres, and a ground clearance of 255 mm. The bike is 2,110 mm long, 830 mm wide and 1,160 mm tall with a wheelbase of 1,370 mm. The Kawasaki KLX 230 locks horns with the likes of the Hero Xpulse 210, KTM 250 Adventure, and Yezdi Adventure to name a few.
