Isuzu D-Max EV revealed globally
The Isuzu D-Max EV has been revealed and it claims a range of 262km on a single charge. The new all-electric D-Max will be introduced in Europe, Australia and select ASEAN markets starting in 2025. The company showcased the model earlier at the 2024 Bangkok International Motor Show.
The Isuzu D-Max EV is powered by a dual-motor setup, one motor on each axle, delivering a combined output of 179.45PS and 325Nm of torque. This setup gives the D-Max EV a 4WD configuration with selectable 2H, 4H and 4L modes. The power is drawn from a 66.9kWh lithium-ion battery pack mounted between the frame rails, allowing for a WLTP-rated range of 262km.
The D-Max EV supports both AC and DC fast charging, with regenerative braking. In terms of capability, the electric D-Max can tow upto 1,000kg and has a payload capacity of 1,000kg. The pick-up truck retains the ladder-frame chassis seen in the internal combustion engine(ICE) variants. The electric pick-up retains the styling of its ICE with a slightly redesigned closed-off front grille, blue accents and EV badging to distinguish it as an eclectic vehicle. The pickup runs on 18-inch alloy wheels and is equipped with LED headlamps.
The interior receives minor updates to the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system to display EV-specific information such as range, battery status and charging stats. More details regarding pricing and India launch plans are yet to be announced.
