Indian Racing League goes Goa for 2026.
The Indian Racing Festival will stage its first-ever Goa edition this February, marking a major milestone for Indian street racing. Scheduled for February 14 and 15, the Formula Street Race Weekend will take place at Manohar International Airport, hosting Round 4 of the Indian Racing League (IRL) championship
For the Goa round, organisers have developed a purpose-built 2.064km FIA-grade street circuit featuring 12 corners integrated into the airport's expansive layout. The tight configuration is expected to promote close racing, late braking manoeuvres and sustained on-track battles, with minimal room for error across the weekend.
All teams will compete in identical Ligier JS F422 race cars powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged Alpine engine. With no performance differentiation between cars, outcomes are expected to hinge on driver ability, race craft and team strategy rather than outright pace.
The Indian Racing League continues with its distinctive four-driver team structure, comprising an international racer, an emerging global talent, an Indian driver and a female competitor. The format is designed to raise competition standards while promoting Indian talent and gender representation at a professional level.
The Goa Street Race arrives at a decisive point in the championship. Speed Demons Delhi lead the standings with 82 points, just one ahead of Hyderabad Black Birds, while Kichcha's Kings Bengaluru remain firmly in contention. With margins this narrow, every session in Goa is expected to have a direct bearing on the title race.
The grid features a blend of Indian prospects and internationally experienced racers, many with Formula 4, GT and endurance racing backgrounds. Team ownership includes figures from sport and cinema, adding further visibility to the series.
