The fifth-gen Hyundai Verna is now in India. It has a new design. Sharing platforms with the bigger Elantra has made it a big car overall, both inside as well as outside. It has a more spacious cabin while the longer wheelbase gives it a good high-speed stability. The 1.6-litre diesel engine that we sampled is an eager performer and gives this car a clear edge over its rivals. In terms of pricing, it straddles the segment leaders - Ciaz and City.
