Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has finally unveiled the SP160, a 160cc elegant commuter. It runs on the same platform as the Unicorn 160 and this is the Japanese brand's second SP motorcycle for India. It will be available in two variants: single disc and double disc.

Honda SP160: Engine and Suspension

The SP160 is powered by a 162.71cc single-cylinder engine that produces 13.4PS and 14.58Nm. It is coupled to a five-speed transmission. Surprisingly, the engine capacity, bore-stroke value, and output statistics for the Unicorn are all the same. As a result, both bikes may be powered by the same engine.

A telescopic fork and monoshock suspension arrangement handle suspension duties. For braking, the double disc type features a 276mm front petal disc and a 220mm rear disc, while the single disc variant has a 130mm rear drum brake with single-channel ABS. To put things in perspective, the Honda Unicorn has a 240mm disc brake up front and a 130mm drum brake up back.

Honda SP160: Design

The new SP160 is stylistically similar to SP125. The SP160 has a crisp LED headlight, a layered fuel tank design with sporty graphics, one-of-a-kind split alloy wheels, a premium chrome muffler cover, and edgy tail lights. The colour palette for SP160 is even more bright than that of Unicorn.

The SP160 has a 796mm seat height and a 177mm ground clearance. The tires on the sporty-looking bike are larger, measuring 80/100 -17 in front and 130/70 -17 in back.

Honda SP160: Features

The SP160 comes with an LCD instrument console that displays basic readouts such as fuel level, gear indication, trip meter, speed, distance indicator, and time. It has LED headlights and taillights. While the headlights are comparable to the SP125, the taillight has a unique M-shaped design.

The Honda SP160 has a three-year standard warranty and a seven-year extended warranty.
