Honda Amaze diesel variants discontinued
The Amaze's diesel variants have been quietly dropped by Honda Cars India. The Honda Amaze is currently only offered in E, S, and VX versions with a petrol engine.
In the Amaze, the 1.5-litre i-DTEC Honda engine cranks out 100PS and up to 200Nm of torque. The automaker previously stated that one of the key factors contributing to the discontinuance of its diesel vehicles was low sales. It just doesn't make sense for Honda to prepare the unit to meet the most recent emission requirements given the high expenses of updating diesel engines to comply with strict emissions rules, paired with reduced sales numbers.
Highlights of the Honda Amaze include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automated temperature control, cruise control, a push start/stop button, LED projector headlights with integrated DRLs, LED fog lamps, electrically adjustable and folding ORVMs, and paddle shifters.
Honda will now return to an all-petrol range like it did in the past. The Amaze's 1.2-litre petrol engine, which generates 90PS and 110 pound-feet of torque, is mated to both a CVT and a five-speed manual transmission.
