Hero Splendor Plus XTEC launched at Rs 72,900
Hero MotoCorp has come out with a new model of one if its popular commuter motorcycles - the Splendor Plus, and it's called the Splendor Plus XTEC. Although the XTEC comes with new LED DRL eyebrow, new graphics and black alloys, the most notable aspect about this particular Splendor model is the amount of tech it houses. The tech in concern comes in the form of an all-digital meter with Bluetooth connectivity (a segment-first), which provides call and message alerts, and reads out real-time fuel efficiency, two trip readings and a low fuel level indicator.
Safety kit on the new Splendor Plus XTEC includes a side-stand alert and a side-stand engine cut-off. Like the standard Splendor Plus, the XTEC also gets a bank-angle sensor which kills the engine if the bike were to tip over drastically. The bike also gets Hero's i3s auto start/stop tech and a USB port for added convenience.
Mechanically the XTEC variant is identical to the standard Splendor Plus - continuing to be powered by a 8PS and 8.05Nm producing 97.2cc, single-cylinder engine that's mated to a 4-speed gearbox.
The new XTEC variant takes over as the top-spec trim in the Splendor Plus range, priced at Rs. 72,900, while the base model is priced at Rs. 69,380 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
