Fiat rolls out its millionth 500
While in India, the puny but expensive Fiat 500 hatchback may not have done well elsewhere and specifically in Poland, the company has rolled out its millionth car. Launched worldwide way back in 2007, the current gen 500 took about 69 months to reach the one million mark. The milestone car was an Abarth, the likes of which will soon be seen on the Indian roads. In addition to Poland, the 500 is also made in Mexico. Fiat says that it has given each and every 500 a different identity thanks to its vast customisation programme and that no two 500s ever look the same.
While the millionth unit is a 135PS 1.4 500, the number 999,999 500 is a 95PS Multijet which has been already allocated to an Italian customer and the 1,000,001 unit is a 69PS 1.2 which has been sold to a German customer. The Fiat 500 currently offers many trim levels â" Pop, Colour Therapy, Lounge, S â" and engine versions, including 1.2, 0.9 TwinAir, 1.4 16V, and 1.3 MultiJet 16V.
