Skoda has always been one of my favorite car manufacturers. When I got to know that I was receiving the keys to the Skoda Slavia as my long term vehicle, I got really excited. The First look was clearly love at first sight, the Tornado Red paint looked no less than a Red Ferrari to me and the overall proportions of the car felt really nice, it sits actually higher as per regular sedan standards. The car that i got was a little over 6300 kms driven but felt like new. The interiors are a talking point with the almost smartphone like quality of the center infotainment screen. The wireless android auto connectivity worked like a charm and the wireless charging dock was really useful. Full marks to the Sound System which is one of the best sounding ones from an OEM. The feature that I enjoyed the most is the ventilated seats and they do work like a charm, keeping you fresh on long journeys. The 6 speed manual gearbox is smooth, even though I would have loved the gear knob to be a little more chunkier to grip. The overall fit and finish is very nice but there are some places in the cabin which i felt weren't upto

Skoda standards. As I drove further I had to appreciate the 1.0 TSi engine, even though it isn't the most refined or powerful engine but it still is grunty enough and comes to life above 2500 rpm with some nice pulls even in 3rd and 4th gear. High speed stability is definitely a talking point here, even though I haven't had the chance to go on a long drive with the Slavia yet, but I can say the car feels planted and the ride quality is definitely premium. While we are on the topic of Premium, the Slavia in this Tornado Red finish is a definite Head turner. The other features like Automatic Headlights, Cruise Control, Sunroof and most importantly 6 Airbags gives you a sense of premiumness and you feel that you are driving a car which is actually a lot more than what it's worth. Overall there is a lot to say about the Slavia because it is a LOT of car for sure, but for an introduction to our OD Garage i feel the Skoda Slavia ticks all the right boxes.
