Citroen has debuted the fourth generation C3 in all-electric form. The European-spec vehicle, known as the e-C3, sits on a new platform, has a more attractive look, a larger battery, and an enhanced stated range with fast charging capacity and looks to be a much better package as compared to the model we get in India.

Citroen e-C3: Design

Citroen designed the Euro-spec e-C3 to be one of the most cheap electric vehicles on the market. It runs on the CC21 platform, which is also utilized by the eC3 for India.

The front-end design looks to have been highly influenced by last year's Citroen Oli concept. The high nose and square C-shaped headlamps appear to have been taken directly from that automobile, and the upright windscreen lends a little rough character. The new Citroen insignia is also prominently displayed on the nose.

The boxy concept continues along the side, where some tough-looking black panelling can be found. The sleekness continues at the back, with small boxy tail lights joined by a black strip across the tailgate. The bumper is also outfitted with false skid plates, and the floating roof effects are highlighted by a variety of body colour choices.

Citroen e-C3: Powertrain

This e-C3 for Europe will be available in Europe, and it features a 44kWh battery pack with a range of up to 320 kilometres. The engine generates 113 horsepower. In comparison, the eC3 for India comes with a 29.2kWh battery pack that drives the front axle-mounted electric motor, which produces 57PS and 143Nm of torque and has an ARAI-claimed range of 320km.

That much power is enough to send this car from 0 to 100kmph in 11 seconds and the top speed is restricted to 135kmph. Citroen is also planning to launch a more affordable version with 200 kilometres of range.

Citroen e-C3: Interior and Features

The interior of the Citroen e-C3 appears to be rather pleasant. There's some interesting cloth on the dashboard to lighten the atmosphere, and the two-spoke steering wheel is also really fascinating. The Euro-spec eC3 is also more feature-rich. It gets a new digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment for higher with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a heads-up display and quite a bit more as compared to the car we get in India.

LED headlights, automated emergency braking, HUD, and cruise control are standard, while higher trims include 17-inch alloy wheels, two-tone exterior paint, auto wipers, heated mirrors, automatic temperature control, wireless phone charging, and other features.

This new e-C3 will go on sale very soon in Europe and is expected to be one of the most affordable EVs. The Indian eC3 is priced from Rs 11.50 lakh.
