Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently confirmed that he has to postpone his India visit because of pressing commitments at Tesla. Musk's 48-hour visit to India was included meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and various startups at Bharat Mandapam. Reports also said that Musk is expected to present a roadmap for total investment of around 20-30 billion dollars in the country. Notably, his visit was slated for 21 and 22 April and it could now take place sometime later this year.

DogeDesigner via its X (formally Twitter) account stated "Elon Musk's visit to India, originally scheduled for April 21 and 22, has been postponed. He needs to attend Tesla's earnings call on April 23, which may be the reason for the delay."

Replying to the post by DogeDesigner Elon Musk said, "unfortunately, very heavy Tesla obligations require that the visit to India be delayed, but I do very much look forward to visiting later this year."

The visit's delay comes after Musk expressed his anticipation of meeting the Indian PM in a tweet on 10 April. The timing of the visit coincided with a new electric vehicle () manufacturing policy introduced by the Indian government, allowing duty concessions for electric car companies committed to manufacturing in India. However, the earlier planned visit overlapped with a crucial conference call in the United States on 23 April, where Musk was required to address questions about Tesla's first quarter performance.
