CEAT Indian Supercross Racing League wraps up mega rider auction for season one

The CEAT Indian Supercross Racing League, the world's first franchise-based Supercross league, concluded its inaugural Mega Rider Auction for the season one at the prestigious JW Marriott in Pune. This event marked a significant milestone in the league's journey, witnessing the participation of 104 riders - 73 international racers, and 31 Indian riders - contending for a maximum of 48 available slots across various categories. The auction amassed a monumental Rs 6 crore.

During the intense auction among the six teams, Bhairav C Gowda's outstanding performance in the competitive 85cc junior class secured the highest bid, showcasing his potential as a rising talent. In the 450cc international category, Thomas Ramette claimed the top bid, while Aleena Mansur Shaikh and Nithila Das from the 85cc junior class were notable female riders chosen by teams, emphasising the growing presence of women in Supercross. Noteworthy bids also went to Indian riders Ikshan Shanbhag and Shlok Ghorpade. Sri Lanka's Nathan Alexander Gunawardena claimed the highest bid in the 250cc India-Asia Mix category, setting a Season One record.

The auction buzzed with enthusiasm as teams sought Indian talent, adding an edge to the competition. The league boasts an impressive lineup of renowned Supercross riders, including 9-time Australian MX and SX Champion Matt Moss, 4X Italian Supercross Champion Lorenzo Camporese, and 2X European/French vice champion Thomas Ramette, among others.

With Season One on the horizon, CEAT ISRL gears up to host international champions and emerging Indian stars across four thrilling categories - 450cc international riders, 250cc international riders, 250cc India-Asia mix, and the highly competitive 85cc junior class. Spanning three vibrant cities, the races promise a blend of excitement, glamour, and fanfare, transforming into star-studded nights with entertainment and music.
