Audi India today launched India's first ultra-fast charging station in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). This ultra-fast charger, developed with ChargeZone, has a total capacity of 450kW and can provide 360kW of power to an electric car. It is powered by a 500 amp liquid-cooled cannon to ensure excellent performance and efficiency.

To give you an idea of how fast this charger is, consider that the Audi Q8 55 e-tron, which has a 114 kWh battery (the biggest battery pack in a passenger car in India), can charge from 20 percent to 80 percent in just 26 minutes. In keeping with Audi's commitment to sustainability, the ultra-fast charging 'e-tron hub' is entirely powered by green energy and has a solar roof that supports peripheral electrical requirements such as lighting the 'e-tron hub'.

Equipped with 5 charging bays and an integrated lounge with 24x7 access, only Audi e-tron owners can charge their vehicles here for free till March 2024. Nevertheless, the chargers are compatible and open for all-electric vehicles.

The ultra-quick charging station, which has high-powered guns for fast charging, is meant to deliver a hassle-free experience and complete peace of mind. Premium coffee coupons are also offered to e-tron owners who charge their e-trons at the hub. The hub will be manned with qualified professionals who will be on hand to provide any support that is required. Audi e-tron owners can get information on the ultra-fast charging 'e-tron hub' via their 'myAudi Connect' App, making it simple to find.

Audi India has successfully placed 140+ chargers throughout 73 cities in India, including all Audi India dealerships, repair facilities, and select SAVWIPL Group brand dealerships located along major highways.

Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India said, "The inauguration of India's first, ultra-fast charging station by Audi India is a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to develop a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem for our valued customers. The ultra-fast charging 'e-tron hub' is located in the heart of Mumbai – Bandra Kurla Complex; which is accessible to a large number of electric vehicle owners. The rapid charging infrastructure is pivotal in alleviating concerns about range limitations, ensuring a seamless experience and considerably less charging time. We are not only establishing new benchmarks within the industry but also reinforcing our dedication to the future of sustainable mobility."

Audi India currently has a wide range of luxury EV portfolio with six electric cars in India – Audi Q8 50 e-tron, Audi Q8 55 e-tron, Audi Q8 Sportback 50 e-tron, Audi Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron, Audi e-tron GT and Audi RS e-tron GT.
