Aprilia has just launched the facelifted version of its Aprilia SR 125 and SR160 scooter at Rs 1.07 lakh and Rs 1.17 lakh respectively (ex-showroom).

The redesigned Aprilia SR 160 has already started collecting pre-bookings from dealerships and can be booked for an initial amount of Rs 5,000, but delivery will begin later this month. Just as we would've predicted, the SR160 is heavily revised in the aesthetic and feature departments

The front of the new Aprilia SR160 has been revised. The headlamp has been slimmed down and now has full-LED illumination. The tail lamp has been restyled as an 'X' and is also LED. Furthermore, the handlebar cowl now has air-scoops in the form of recesses, and the seats are split-type. A bigger grab rail is also included.

The single seat will be replaced with a split seat, with all-new cushioning. The new scooter also gets 14-inch alloy wheels.

Aprilia has left the powertrain unchanged, which means the scooter will continue to feature the powerful 160cc air-cooled three-valve engine that produces 11PS and 11.6 Nm of torque.

The suspension and brakes too will be carried on from the pre-facelift model. So telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock at the rear, along with a single-channel ABS system is what Aprilia will offer on the SR160.

The facelifted Aprilia SR160 now will get a fully digital instrument cluster in order to keep up with the market competition. This digital cluster will come with a host of features like top-speed display, odometer and time, mileage indication and plenty more. It also gets a USb port, a boot light and 11 litres of boot storage capacity.

Pre-bookings have already begun for the new scooter and deliveries are expected to start towards the end of this month. The new SR160 will come in a range of white, blue, grey, red and matte black colours The Aprilia SR160 now starts at Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom).
