Anindith Reddy is FMSCI Motorsports Person of the Year 2017

Anindith Reddy was awarded the title of FMSCI National Motorsports Person of the Year 2017 at the FMSCI awards that were held in Chennai on Sunday. The 26-year-old racer had an excellent season last year, managing to win both the MRF FF1600 championship and the Euro JK 17 Championship. The award was presented to Anindith by FIA WMSC member Gautam Singhania, and FMSCI president Akbar Ebrahim.

"I would like to thank the FMSCI for honouring me with this award, as also for creating various platforms for young motor sports enthusiasts in the country to sharpen their skills," Anindith said after receiving the award.

Also honoured at the ceremony was KD Madan, who is former FMSCI president and former champion of the legendary K1000 rally, who was given the FMSCI Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to motorsport in India.

Speaking at the event Akbar Ebrahim stated "We have had a great year, lots of competitions, lots of exciting new talent. A number of them have graduated to the international stage and are making a mark there too." It was these drivers who are also performing well internationally who were felicitated at the ceremony. This included Arjun Maini, Jehan Daruvala, Aditya Patel, Armaan Ebrahim, Gaurav Gill and Abhilash PG.

Women racers who were felicitated at the event included Aishwarya Pissay, Rhyana Bee A, Kalyani V Potekar and Mira Erda.

In addition, all the national champions in various categories were awarded.
